Any of you guys play Timecrest? It's a game for iOS, and it's free. It's a text-based choose your own adventure type thing with a very deep and interesting story, although it may not seem like it at first.

I did for a quite a while. Got through both 1 and 2 twice. Will probably polay it again when 3 comes out. It was decent. There's a plethora of text-based games out there. This one seems interesting enough. The pay to advance time mechanics and waiting while every message loads is quite frustrating. I don't mind giving a developer my money by any means; games take money to make after all. But I don't like the way they do it. Still decent though. There's another one, the Girl Who Sold the WOrld, which is a similar concept. Except instead of text, the person on the other end of the line is fully voiced to a quite high standard, and there are sound effects. Essentially it sounds like you're talking to someone who is using a field recorder. It's really good so far. It's also not even slightly accessible at the moment, but the developers are working to make it so. They're having financial trouble however and are trying to gather resources and interest from the blind and sighted communities alike. I'd love to see this get off the ground. The Sound Effects and voice acting elevate it above Timechrest's presentation for me, and its story is intreaguing so far.

Still trying to understand what the hell happened at the end of timecrest 2. It's confusing.

I don't think we're really supposed to know what's going on at the end. I found it actually sets things up really good for a sequal. There are actually several very interesting major diversions to the story also which shed different light on various aspects. You almost need to keep track of the choices you've made at times.

So I'm curious, without giving too many details, (because of spoilers, of course), did you go with Riley or Roger and the others on your first playthrough?

On my first play threw of time crest, I wnt with Riley. Really bad idea. I'm not going to say why going eith her is a really bad idea though. There are several things I like about this game. Depending on the choices you make, the story can go in several directions. The wait times between messages actually makes the game seem like an instant message conversation.

Agreed, and I went with Riley, too. I prefer that over the alternative...

I went with Riley my first time also. Yes, bad idea. Not bad in "there's one good choice and one bad, just bad in what happens. I actually think I prefer the Roger path a bit more. Riley started getting on my nerves a bit. She's all sweet and innocent seeming, except there's clearly more to her. THen I read her memories and felt a little better about her. Not sure which path I'll take for my playthrough when the third game comes out.

A.C struck me as a stuck up brat. To post nine, you're right about Riley. There's some real mystery surrounding her. I hope they reveal more in time crest three, and I hope they release it soon! I haven't read all of Riley's memories, I think I still have one more to unlock.
